12/10 Cookies Can Be Good For You

Friday, 12/10 (1 session) 10:00 a.m. - Noon

Kennard African American Cultural Heritage Center

Course Description

Cookies are essential for sharing with friends and family, and indulging your own cravings! Famous for their exorbitant sugar and fat content (but oh so good), they can be made a tad healthier by using cocoa and molasses for sweetening, adding rolled oats and whole wheat flour for fiber, and substituting canola oil for fat. And, STILL be oh so good! Make sumptuous recipes from Julianna Pax’s cookbooks and experience luscious health-conscience cookies. Limited to 8 participants Instructor: Alicia Siegrist Fee: $20 for materials to be invoiced prior to the date of class Alicia Siegrist earned a B.S. in geology from University of Maryland, College Park and an M.S. in geochemistry and mineralogy from Penn State. She worked for NASA Goddard and University of Maryland’s Computer Center, and has taught geology, oceanography, and computer science to students ages 5 to 90. Julianna Pax’s not-so sweet and not-so-fat filled cookies are family tested and approved - “Yumm, these are GOOD!”
