Technology and Digital Literacy

Course Description

There is a lack of resources for older adults when it comes to digital literacy - this course will bridge the gap! Learn how the Internet works and how to stay safe on the Internet on smart devices (like phones and computers). Learn how to identify scam emails and other useful tips for navigating technology. In addition to the course, students can bring their own devices (such as phones, computers and tablets) to the class if they are experiencing issues and receive individualized tech support. Limited to 15 participants Instructor: Elyssa Merton Elyssa and Leslie (Elyssa's coworker) work at an internet company. Leslie also works at Computer Island, builds computers and has held STEM courses for seniors and young kids. Elyssa's current position is helping older adults understand technology and how to utilize their Internet service.
